The Lyme Local History Archives lost our good friend, Doris “Doad” Reynolds Jewett, who died December 10, 2013 at 100 years old. She was a volunteer in the Archives for several years until just four years ago. She would walk over from the home she grew up in on Hamburg Cove to the Lyme Public Hall, always game to help with whatever the task at hand was. Her recollections and stories provided fun and good historical context for the Archives work. Her donations to the Lyme Local history collection—taped oral histories, documents, memorabilia, books, antique photographs and her wonderfully written memoir, Things Remembered — are valued. Our deep thanks and a very warm good bye, Doad.
