Our condolences to the family and friends of Ruth Elizabeth Young of Beaver Brook Rd., who died on December 9 at age 99. Ruth taught grades 4-6 at Lyme Consolidated School and Lyme Old Lyme Middle School for 30 years. She was President of the Lyme Public Hall in the 1990’s, President of Grassy Hill Church in Lyme, and was a fierce advocate for the initial construction of the Lymes’ Senior Center, subsequently serving as its President as well. A memorial service was held Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 am in the Old Lyme Congregational Church. Donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to Toys for Tots
