Pleasant Valley Association papers now available
Our new archivist Julie Hughes has been hard at work every Thursday at the Bacdayan Archive Room in the Lyme Public Library. In addition to the Beebe Collection, she has organized all of the papers we have received relating to the Pleasant Valley Association so that they are fully inventoried with a complete finding aid, now accessible in our Archives collection.
Anyone is welcome to visit with Julie on Thursdays from 11am-3pm, or to access the Archives on Tuesdays from 2pm-5pm with the help of our volunteer staff. If you would like to submit a question or make an appointment with Julie, check out our online contact form.
Beebe Family donation to Archives
The Local History Archives has received a box of materials relating to William Beebe and his antecedents, generously donated by Deane Beebe. These items have been accessioned, catalogued and filed for public access through the Archives. Genealogical materials have been incorporated into the William Beebe Genealogical Collection. We are working on transferring some items relating to the Beebe Hill School in Falls Village-Canaan and the Knowles family of Haddam to the respective Historical Societies of Falls Village-Canaan and Haddam, as they are more relevant to those collections and both have expressed interest.
