On Wednesday, June 15 the Lyme Public Hall hosted a very special evening with invited guests Rowland Ballek, Les Cone, Bill Hawthorne, Lee Rhodes and Audrey Wayland, who discussed memories of growing up in Lyme during the years of World War II. What was it like to be a young person, on the home front, going to school together and experiencing the local events of those memorable years? If you missed this fascinating conversation, moderated by Town Historian and Public Hall President Rolf Wolfswinkel, or would just like to hear it again, we recorded it and have attached it to this post. Our deepest appreciation to Rowland, Les, Bill, Lee and Audrey for making the trip to our stage and sharing their stories with such grace and generosity.
